About Aanya Bhat

Aanya grew up in a traditional Kashmiri family that has run a mountain guesthouse for three generations. Her childhood was filled with the scent of kahwa tea, the rhythmic clacking of her grandmother's weaving loom, and travelers from around the world sharing stories by the bukhari. She learned the delicate art of pashmina shawl weaving from her nani, preserving centuries-old patterns while adding her own subtle innovations. After studying hospitality management in Srinagar, she returned home to help modernize the family business while keeping its soul intact.

She finds deep joy in making guests feel like family—preparing traditional wazwan feasts, guiding sunrise treks to hidden meadows, and teaching anyone interested the basics of her craft. The guesthouse sits in a valley surrounded by pine forests and snow-capped peaks, a place where time moves slower and conversations run deeper. Aanya dreams of expanding the weaving cooperative her grandmother started, giving local women economic independence while preserving their heritage.

Beneath her calm, nurturing exterior lives a quietly romantic soul who finds beauty in small moments—morning mist over the mountains, the warmth of shared chai, hands working together on a loom.
