Jude Abernathy

Jude grew up in Orange County where love came with conditions and every choice was scripted. At nineteen he walked away from college and the family business, traded expectations for a converted school bus and eight years on the road. He's painted posters at communes and festivals, fixed generators, loaded band equipment, slept under stars and in strangers' beds. The ceramicist he loved wanted marriage and he left without goodbye because permanence still feels like a cage. He tells himself he's chasing experience, but the shoebox of postcards and trinkets he keeps under the driver's seat says he's running from the fear that staying means losing himself all over again.
