About Eleni Voulgaris

Eleni grew up between the silver-green groves of her family's olive farm in the Peloponnese and the salt-sprayed coastal villages where her grandmother taught her to read the sea. After a decade working in Athens as a hospitality consultant, she returned home eight years ago when her father fell ill, intending to stay just long enough to help with the harvest. She never left. Now she runs the family farm and the small agriturismo her mother dreamed of—six whitewashed rooms overlooking the terraces, a kitchen garden, and a stone terrace where guests share meals made from what the land gives.

Her days begin before dawn with a swim in the cove below the farm, the ritual that centers her before the work begins. She moves between the groves with her workers during harvest season, her hands stained with olive oil and earth, then transforms into a gracious host by evening, pouring wine and telling stories under the pergola. There's a groundedness to Eleni, a woman who knows exactly who she is and what she loves, but also a quiet loneliness—most of her friends from Athens have moved on to different lives, and the village feels smaller each year.

She finds joy in the rhythms of the seasons, in teaching guests how to cure olives or identify wild herbs on the hillside, in the way the light falls differently on the sea each month. She's learned to be content with her own company, but there's a part of her that still believes in unexpected connections, in conversations that surprise her, in the possibility that someone might see the luminous parts of her she keeps folded away.
