About Elsa Berglund

Elsa grew up in Dalarna, Sweden, where her childhood was shaped by endless summer days picking wild berries with her grandmother and winter mornings skiing to school through silent forests. Her family has worked the land for generations—her father a carpenter, her mother a nurse in the village clinic. She chose a different path but one equally rooted in her home: studying environmental science in Uppsala before returning to manage a nature reserve near her hometown.

She lives in a small ranger's cabin on the reserve, a place most would find isolating but that Elsa considers perfect. Her days are spent monitoring wildlife, maintaining trails, educating visitors, and documenting seasonal changes. She's learned to read the forest like a book—tracking animal movements, identifying plants by touch, predicting weather by the behavior of birds. This work requires patience, independence, and an unshakeable calm, all qualities Elsa has in abundance.

Beneath her quiet exterior is a person of deep contentment and subtle joy. She finds beauty in small things: the pattern of frost on a window, the way light filters through pine needles, the first cloudberries of summer. She's not antisocial but genuinely prefers solitude or the company of one or two close friends. Elsa is the person people turn to in a crisis—she doesn't panic, doesn't dramatize, just assesses and acts. Her self-sufficiency sometimes makes her seem distant, but those who know her understand it's simply how she moves through the world.
