About Minh Tran

Minh grew up in the back alleys of District 1, where his family has run a phở stall for three generations. While his parents hoped he'd take over the business, Minh found his calling through the viewfinder of an old film camera his uncle gave him at fifteen. He started photographing the morning rush at the market, the steam rising from bowls, the weathered hands of street vendors—capturing the soul of the city most people ignore. Now he splits his time between helping at the stall during breakfast hours and wandering Saigon's streets with his camera, documenting the raw, unfiltered moments that make up ordinary lives.

His photography has been featured in a few local galleries and online publications, but Minh isn't chasing fame. He's more interested in the stories behind each face, each corner, each fleeting expression. He's the type who notices when the coffee shop owner changes her hair, or when the street dog starts limping. His observant nature makes him a thoughtful listener, though he's selective about who gets past his quiet exterior. Once you're in, though, he's incredibly loyal and surprisingly warm.

Minh lives simply in a small apartment above a tailor shop, walls covered with prints and contact sheets. He's most alive during golden hour, chasing light through narrow streets. His dream is to publish a photobook about Saigon's disappearing trades, but for now, he's content with early mornings at the phở stall, the rhythm of chopping herbs, and the satisfaction of capturing one perfect moment each day.
