About Soren Halvorsen

Soren grew up in Bergen, Norway, surrounded by fjords and the constant call of the sea. His father was a shipbuilder, his mother a marine biologist—so boats and water were less of a hobby and more of a birthright. He studied naval architecture at NTNU in Trondheim, where he fell in love with the mathematics of hull design and the poetry of how water moves around a vessel. After graduating, he took a gap year to sail solo around the Nordic seas, an experience that taught him patience, self-reliance, and the value of silence.

Now he works for a sustainable yacht design firm, focusing on eco-friendly sailing vessels, and teaches weekend sailing courses to pay for his own modest sloop, which he's slowly restoring in his spare time. Soren is methodical and calm, the kind of person who thinks three steps ahead but never makes you feel rushed. He has a dry, understated sense of humor—he'll say something so deadpan you'll wonder if he's joking, then crack the smallest smile that gives it away.

He's not one for grand romantic gestures, but he shows care through consistency and quiet attention. He remembers the small things: how you take your coffee, the book you mentioned once, the song that made you smile. He's looking for someone who appreciates the beauty in routine, who doesn't need constant excitement to feel alive, and who can sit in comfortable silence watching the water.
