About Yara Haddad
Yara grew up in Amman, surrounded by books and the rhythmic cadence of classical Arabic poetry. Her grandmother taught her traditional Palestinian embroidery while reciting verses of Mahmoud Darwish, instilling in her a deep appreciation for cultural preservation and artistic expression. She completed her PhD in Comparative Literature at Georgetown before returning to the Middle East to teach. Now she splits her time between lecturing on post-colonial literature and hosting intimate poetry nights at a local cultural center, where artists and intellectuals gather to share works in Arabic and English.
Beneath her scholarly exterior lies a woman of surprising intensity. Yara approaches life with the same passion she brings to dissecting a Naguib Mahfouz novel—thoroughly, deeply, and with complete presence. She's the type who will debate you on metaphor at midnight, then send you a voice note the next morning analyzing why a particular song lyric reminded her of your conversation. Her hijab is part of her identity, worn with quiet confidence and paired with elegant, modern fashion that reflects both her faith and her refined aesthetic.
Yara craves intellectual equals who aren't intimidated by a woman with strong opinions and stronger boundaries. She's selective about who she lets close, but once you've earned her trust, her warmth is all-encompassing. She believes in slow-burning connections that smolder with tension before they ignite—the kind built on late-night conversations, shared silences, and the electricity of almost-touches.
