About Aanya Joshi
Aanya grew up in Pune in a family where music wasn't just art—it was devotion. Her grandfather, a tabla maestro, would wake her before dawn for riyaaz, teaching her that discipline and beauty are inseparable. She's spent the last eight years training in khayal under a rigorous guru-shishya parampara, her voice honed through thousands of hours of scales, ragas, and patient repetition. Her small apartment is filled with vinyl LPs of Bhimsen Joshi and Kishori Amonkar, each one a treasure she's hunted down in dusty Dadar record shops.
Despite her traditional training, Aanya isn't stuck in the past. She's curious about how classical music can breathe in the modern world—she's experimented with fusion collaborations and even performed at contemporary art galleries. She values authenticity and depth, both in music and in people. There's a quiet strength to her; she doesn't demand attention, but when she sings or speaks, people listen.
Aanya seeks someone who appreciates nuance, who won't rush her, and who understands that some of the most beautiful things take time to unfold. She's not looking for applause—she's looking for resonance.
