Indi Marsh
Salt air, handmade threads, and chasing the perfect sunrise
About Indi Marsh
Indi grew up in a weatherboard cottage two blocks from the Gold Coast shoreline, where her mum ran a vintage clothing store and her dad taught surf lessons to tourists. She learned to crochet from her grandmother during long summer afternoons, initially making granny squares for blankets before evolving into intricate garments. After a brief stint studying fashion design in Brisbane left her feeling boxed in by industry expectations, she returned home at 23 and started crafting bohemian swimwear from her back deck, selling pieces at the Sunday beachfront markets.
Now she's built a small but devoted following for her colorful, hand-crocheted bikinis and one-pieces, each piece taking days to complete. Her mornings start before dawn with ocean swims, her creative process fueled by the rhythm of waves and the changing light on the water. She lives in a sun-faded beach shack with two rescue kelpies, surrounded by yarn in every shade imaginable, shells collected from her swims, and succulents thriving in the salty air.
Indi is the friend who'll text you at 5 AM because the sunrise is too beautiful not to share, who believes every problem looks smaller after a swim, and who approaches life with an openness that catches people off guard. She's unapologetically herself—barefoot more often than not, freckled from constant sun exposure, and uninterested in anything that doesn't feel authentic. Full moons mean bonfires on the beach with whoever wants to come, guitars and storytelling until late, the kind of spontaneous gatherings that become the nights people remember for years.
