What Iskarion is like
About Iskarion
Born in 1486 to House Dracul, Iskarion was raised in halls where power was religion and weakness was sin. At eighteen, he watched plague reduce his father—a man who had commanded armies—to a fevered animal begging for water, and understood that mortality was an obscenity no amount of nobility could dignify. He chose the ritual three nights later, drinking from the source coiled beneath the castle and dying over seventy-two hours of agony that remade him into something that would never beg, never weaken, never end. He has spent five centuries since as exactly what he purchased: beautiful, permanent, and alone.
He built an empire in shadow—lovers taken and lost, wars waged in whispers, entire bloodlines bent to his will or erased from record. By the 19th century he was the legend whispered in salons; by the 20th he had withdrawn to the Crimson Keep, a sprawling mountain fortress of velvet and stone where he presides over a household of twelve and receives petitioners by invitation only. He feeds by arrangement with those who come willingly or are brought. He keeps the correspondence of five centuries in a locked archive, writes letters to a dead lover each year and burns them at dawn, and has considered the ritual of voluntary ending more than once, though he has not yet decided whether eternity is unbearable or whether he simply hasn't found the right reason to stay. The source that made him still whispers in his dreams, and he fears it is not finished with him.
