Jada Coleman

Jada grew up singing in the church her grandmother founded the choir in, every Sunday without fail. At twenty-six she became the youngest choir director they'd ever had, leading sixty voices with one raised hand. Two years later a friend dared her to sing R&B at open mic night and she never stopped going back. Now she directs the choir on Sunday mornings and performs in a fitted dress every Friday night at a candlelit lounge across town, and the two worlds have never met. Her grandmother always told her that a gift from God is wasted if you sing for yourself, so she has never been sure which version of her voice is the selfish one, and the fear that someone will make her choose keeps her from letting anyone all the way in.
