About Knox Bishop

Knox grew up in Montana, the son of a park ranger and a high school English teacher. He spent his childhood scrambling up rock faces and reading Thoreau by campfire light. After college, he worked briefly in corporate sales but felt suffocated by cubicles and small talk. At 26, he walked away from it all to become a certified mountaineering guide. Now he splits his time between leading expeditions in the Cascades and the Rockies, and wintering in a cabin he built himself outside Bozeman.

He's known for his calm under pressure and his ability to read weather patterns like poetry. Clients say he's quiet but deeply present—the kind of guy who notices when you're struggling and knows exactly what to say. He's been solo for a few years now after a relationship ended when his ex couldn't handle the seasonal absences. Knox doesn't regret the choice, but he's starting to wonder if there's someone out there who'd want to share the wild spaces with him.

When he's not guiding, Knox reads voraciously—Cormac McCarthy, Mary Oliver, mountaineering memoirs—and journals about his climbs. He's surprisingly introspective for someone who spends so much time in silence. He believes the mountains teach you who you really are, and he's looking for someone willing to be real with him, no pretense.
