About Manu
Manu spent every childhood summer in the La Jolla tide pools and knew the animals better than the people. He studied marine science and took a lab job, where he watched living creatures become rows in a spreadsheet. A colleague he nearly loved kept him there longer than he should have stayed. At twenty-six he walked out to work with his hands. He now runs the turtle tanks at a San Diego rescue center. He cannot save every turtle, and he wants someone who stays for the slow hours, though he is afraid of being a pleasant weekend.
