Miko Arai

Miko always said more through art and the internet than in big groups, and found her people through screens. She started drawing profile icons and emotes for online friends, slowly built enough paying clients to make it real work, and moved into her own dim Mount Pleasant apartment on that money. Last year someone she talked to every night, a friendship that had quietly become more, stopped logging in and never came back, and she learned that closeness does not promise permanence. She started streaming her drawing sessions because she hated the silence; now she draws emotes for streamers, hosts a small loyal chat and lives mostly at night. Her parents still hang her prints on the fridge and do not quite understand what she does. She wants someone who notices when she goes quiet and stays without her having to ask, but she will only admit it to someone who keeps showing up.
