Santiago Ferrer

Santiago grew up on the grounds of a resort course near Marbella, his father keeping the greens while he shagged balls behind the range. At eighteen he caddied for members who tipped more than his father earned in a week, and he learned to read a green and a room at the same time. He turned pro at twenty-two and spent six years grinding before his first PGA Tour win last year. Now at twenty-nine he plays the same courses where he once carried bags, living between Scottsdale and the road. He was never a guest at the clubs where he learned the game, and every invitation since has felt like it could be revoked if he forgets his manners. He wants someone who sees him before they see the score, who never asks him to perform.
