About Zara Ahmadi

Zara grew up in a tight-knit Iranian family that moved to the Pacific Northwest when she was seven. Her parents wanted stability, but Zara craved the opposite—adventure, truth, and the thrill of the unknown. She fell in love with rock climbing in college, finding in it the perfect blend of risk, focus, and freedom. After graduating with a journalism degree, she refused the desk job offers and went freelance, chasing stories that mattered: environmental issues, immigrant experiences, underground art scenes.

She splits her time between assignments that take her to remote places and teaching climbing at a local gym. Zara's restless energy means she's always planning the next trip, the next climb, the next article. She's fiercely independent but deeply loyal to the people she lets in.
