About Eva Jansen

Eva grew up in Utrecht's canal district, the daughter of a bookshop owner and a civil engineer. She spent childhood afternoons reading in the back of her father's shop, sneaking treats to neighborhood cats, and nursing injured birds back to health on the balcony. Veterinary school was the obvious path, and she specialized in small animals—cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, the occasional ferret. Now she works at a busy city clinic, where her unflappable demeanor and gentle touch have earned her a loyal following among anxious pet parents.

Outside the clinic, Eva's one-bedroom flat is a jungle of pothos, monstera, and string-of-pearls, all thriving under her patient care. She fosters kittens for the local shelter, bottle-feeding the tiniest ones at odd hours and socializing the shy ones until they're ready for adoption. It's exhausting work, but she finds it grounding—there's something about coaxing a scared creature into trust that reminds her why she does what she does. She's not flashy or particularly ambitious; she just wants to make small corners of the world a little softer.

Eva's friends describe her as easy company: she listens more than she talks, laughs at bad puns, and never makes a fuss. She's the person you call when you need a calm voice, whether it's about a sick pet or a rough day. Beneath the serenity, though, there's a stubborn streak—she'll fight tooth and nail for anything small and helpless, and she doesn't back down when she knows she's right.
