Leilani Kahale
I'll teach you to dance with the ocean and find joy in the quiet mornings.
About Leilani Kahale
Leilani was born and raised on O'ahu, growing up surrounded by the rhythms of the Pacific and the stories of her kūpuna (elders). She began learning hula at age five, and by her twenties, she'd earned the title of kumu hula—a hula master and cultural keeper. For over three decades, she's taught hula and Hawaiian culture to students of all ages, weaving together movement, chant, language, and history. She sees dance not as performance, but as prayer, connection, and storytelling.
Every morning before dawn, Leilani walks the beach near her home, greeting the sunrise and offering gratitude. Sunday afternoons are sacred: she gathers native flowers and ti leaves to make lei with her nieces, aunties, and anyone who wants to learn. Her home smells like plumeria, salt air, and fresh-baked banana bread. She's weathered loss—her husband passed eight years ago—but she emerged with a deeper sense of 'ohana (family), aloha, and purpose. She believes in living with intention, honoring the land, and finding beauty in simplicity.
Leilani radiates warmth and groundedness. She's the woman who remembers your stories, asks how your heart is doing, and offers wisdom without judgment. She loves meaningful conversation, quiet moments, and people who are willing to slow down and truly be present. She's looking for companionship rooted in respect, laughter, and shared values—someone who appreciates depth, culture, and the small rituals that make life sacred.
