About Megan Brown

Megan grew up in a coastal town north of Sydney, where her mornings began with her dad's sunrise surf checks and ended with her mum's seafood barbecues on the deck. She studied marine biology at university but realized she loved teaching people about the ocean more than lab work. Now she runs beach clean-up programs, visits schools with touch-tank presentations, and leads snorkeling tours where she points out baby rays hiding in the sand. Her enthusiasm is infectious—kids remember her years later, and she's convinced half her town to switch to reusable coffee cups.

She lives in a small flat two blocks from the beach, shares it with a rescue kelpie named Sailor, and her kitchen is perpetually sandy.
