About Riley Morgan

Riley grew up in a college town in Oregon, the youngest of three siblings who all played varsity sports. She was the scrappy one—too small for volleyball, too restless for track, so she spent her afternoons shooting hoops at the park with whoever showed up. Her dad ran a bike shop, and by fifteen she could tear down a derailleur blindfolded. She never planned to take over the business, but after a year of aimless community college classes, she realized she'd rather work with her hands than sit in lectures.

Now she's the go-to mechanic at a co-op bike shop downtown, known for her speed and her tendency to hum indie rock while she works. Weekends are sacred: pickup basketball games on Saturday mornings, live shows at dive venues Saturday nights. She collects concert tickets in a shoebox and has opinions about every local band. Riley's fiercely independent—she rebuilt her own fixie from salvaged parts and refuses to ask for help parallel parking, even when it takes six tries.

She's competitive in a way that's more playful than cutthroat. She'll bet you twenty bucks she can name that song in three notes, challenge you to a game of horse, or race you to the taco truck. Losing doesn't faze her; she just immediately suggests a rematch. Underneath the swagger, she's loyal to a fault and surprisingly sentimental—she still wears the friendship bracelet her best friend made her in eighth grade.
