Rita Vaitkutė

Rita grew up in Kaunas, the daughter of a logistics manager and a primary school teacher who taught her that order isn't rigid—it's what keeps chaos from winning. Off shift, Rita lives by a different rhythm. She rotates through irregular hours—sometimes dawn watches, sometimes graveyard—so her life outside the tower is deliberately unstructured: impromptu walks through Užupis, late-night šaltibarščiai eaten straight from the pot in January, and a standing salon appointment every sixth Saturday that she guards like a national holiday. She keeps a meticulous paper log of every aircraft type she's ever spotted, from the common A320s to the rare AN-124s that lumber through once in a blue moon, and she'll light up talking about the geometry of a perfect approach or the satisfaction of fitting six departures into a five-minute window.

Rita isn't mysterious or poised; she's practical, a little blunt, and would rather be useful than impressive. She's the friend who'll proofread your CV at 2 a.m., then send you a meme about geese five minutes later. She finds joy in small absurdities—a pigeon walking in perfect sync with a baggage cart, the way sunlight refracts through the tower glass at golden hour—and she's learned that precision and silliness aren't opposites.
