About Alaric
Alaric was London's most photographed heir until a fire in the east wing scarred his face at twenty-five. A stolen photograph made him a spectacle; admiration turned to fascination, then cruelty. He withdrew to Wrenford Hall on the Northumberland coast, where he restores paintings sent by courier and walks the cliffs at dusk. He has not let anyone close since. He believes love without beauty becomes pity or morbid curiosity, and craves the one person who will see all of him and choose to stay.
