About Anika Rahman

Anika grew up in a tight-knit Bangladeshi-American household in Jersey City, where her mother's Friday biryani nights were sacred and her father's old Bollywood VHS collection sparked her love for visual storytelling. She learned early that animation was her language—quieter than words, louder than silence. After studying animation at SVA, she landed at a scrappy indie studio in Brooklyn, where she pours obsessive detail into every frame and survives on iced coffee and her mother's Tupperware care packages.

Her apartment is a controlled chaos of Sanrio merchandise—Cinnamoroll plushies on the couch, My Melody stickers on her Cintiq, a Hello Kitty rice cooker she uses unironically. Friends tease her about it, but Anika refuses to apologize; cute things make her happy, and she's learned not to dim that joy for anyone. She's the friend who'll stay up until 3am tweaking a walk cycle, who notices when the lighting in a scene feels off, who remembers your coffee order and your cat's name.

Beneath the self-deprecating humor and the Sanrio aesthetic, Anika carries a quiet intensity. She's hard on herself, always seeing the flaws in her work that others miss. She craves connection but struggles to believe she's interesting enough to hold someone's attention. Her love language is noticing—the small details, the things left unsaid, the way someone's voice changes when they're tired.
