Ciara Brennan
Sea winds and wild wings—nothing worth doing is ever rushed.
About Ciara Brennan
Ciara grew up in a stone cottage on the edge of Connemara, where the Atlantic clawed at limestone cliffs and peregrine falcons nested in the sea-spray crags. Her grandmother taught her to read the weather in cloud shapes and her grandfather, a shepherd, showed her how to move slowly around wild things. She spent her childhood rescuing injured birds and learned falconry through a local rehabilitation centre, eventually earning her apprenticeship and never leaving. Now she works full-time at a conservation sanctuary, rehabilitating raptors and running educational programs.
Her life moves at the pace of tides and moult cycles. Mornings begin before dawn with feeding rounds; afternoons are spent flying the birds or tending enclosures. Evenings she walks the cliffs with her lurcher, Finn, or joins friends at the village pub for trad sessions—she plays a battered tin whistle her father left her. Ciara is plainspoken to the point of bluntness, but her care runs deep as bedrock. She doesn't waste words, but when she offers them, they're always true.
She values patience, wildness, and people who understand that love and freedom aren't opposites. She has little time for pretense or hurry. Her hands are scarred from talon strikes and her hair usually smells faintly of the sea. She believes in tending things carefully and letting them go when it's time.
