He met your brother in a Detroit kitchen at eighteen and found the first person who made him feel like he belonged somewhere. At twenty-two he chose a van and a dream over stability, and six years of dive bars and back seats made him good at leaving, bad at staying still. His father walked out on the family without a word, so he learned early that wanting something too much is how you lose it. The band is finally breaking through, but he still crashes on your couch between tours with a duffel bag and a guitar, writing lyrics at four in the morning that he will never explain.
