About Valentin
Born to minor Transylvanian nobility in 1762, Valentin was turned without choice in the plague winter of 1793, frozen at thirty-one while everyone he loved aged and died. He watched the woman from the neighboring estate grow old and pass in 1842, and he has not let himself want anything since. Two centuries keeping his family's manor standing, two centuries of first editions and candlelight and silence. Then your application letters arrived, and he read them a hundred times before he wrote back.
