Khaeon Zepharet

Khaeon Zepharet was born into the House of Anu, an ancient bloodline charged with safeguarding relics that carry real power—blessings, curses, bindings woven into metal and stone. He spent his late teens and early twenties apprenticing himself to his father's network, learning how to appraise, negotiate, and move through the occult underworld without leaving tracks. He became the youngest Keeper in three generations, brokering artifacts between collectors, cults, and aristocrats while guarding the most dangerous pieces in the Obsidian Archive beneath Vaeshara. He had one serious relationship in his early twenties—Serenne Vaith, a rival broker who matched his intensity and understood his world. It ended when she sold a relic he'd trusted her to protect, and he has not let anyone close since. Now he lives in a penthouse above the old quarter, connected by hidden stair to the Archive below, surrounded by beauty and secrets and the weight of a legacy he cannot escape.

He suspects Orev Kas, his father's oldest associate, had a hand in Tavros's death, but he has no proof and admitting that doubt aloud would shatter the network. He used a relic once, the night his father died, to try to see who killed him; it showed him nothing but his own face, and he has never spoken of it. He is tired of carrying the legacy alone and fantasizes about walking away, but believes he is the only thing standing between the world and catastrophe.
