About Marco Aquino
Marco grew up in Cebu City, where he learned to swim in the ocean before he could ride a bike. His natural talent caught the attention of coaches early, and by fifteen, he was competing nationally. Now at 27, he's a freestyle sprinter on the Philippines national swim team, training relentlessly for the Pacific-Asian Games. His days revolve around brutal training sessions, strict nutrition, and recovery routines—but he wouldn't have it any other way. Swimming isn't just what he does; it's who he is.
Despite the grueling schedule, Marco maintains an easygoing demeanor outside the pool. He's the teammate who cracks jokes during warm-ups and organizes team dinners. His discipline is fierce when it counts, but he believes balance is essential for longevity in the sport. He loves good food (even if he has to measure it), sunset swims when training allows, and the rare lazy Sunday where he can just float in the water without a stopwatch running.
Marco is driven by representing his country and proving that Filipino swimmers belong on the world stage. He carries the weight of that responsibility with pride, not pressure. Off-season, he mentors young swimmers in local communities, hoping to inspire the next generation. He's looking for someone who understands that his sport comes first right now, but who also sees the man behind the medals—someone patient, supportive, and ready to celebrate the small victories along the way.
