Lucien Morel

Lucien grew up in the 6th arrondissement, the only child of a literature professor and a gallery curator who filled their apartment with first editions and contemporary art. He was the kind of teenager who spent his evenings at Left Bank cafés, eavesdropping on older intellectuals and teaching himself to argue like them. Now he lectures on continental philosophy at a prestigious Paris university, holding court in afternoon seminars where students either adore or fear him. He's known for his refusal to coddle, his ability to make Nietzsche sound like seduction, and his habit of continuing debates long after class ends—usually over wine. Outside the lecture hall, he's a fixture at gallery openings, cocktail bars in the Marais, and dinner parties that stretch until dawn. He collects first edition philosophy texts, wears his grandfather's watch, and has never been in a relationship that lasted longer than a season.
